"When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, 'So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life.'" --Acts 11:18. Star Trek Generations is 30?!

Wow.
I was in the navy when it came out. Saw it on vhs at a friend's house,
who had rented it.

It was, a meh sort of movie.

Hello,

wow, I've just seen Section 31. Reluctantly. I'm still surprised I even
managed to keep watching, even though with all the gore/horror elements I
had to look away every now and then. That's become almost a common thing
with the Star Trek shows of these years, sadly.

But what can I say? This has to be the very worst Star Trek show. I don't
know why Star Trek is in the name. It's like with the earlier shows -- it
feels like they never wanted to make a Star Trek show in the first place.

By now it's so uncomfortable to watch, it really kind of physically hurts,
and after all this morbid fascination with how bad it could get is
satisfied, I will no longer watch anything Star Trek anymore (new) unless
good reviews come in, first. I mean, okay, what was I expecting, right? My
expectations were at the very bottom of what I've seen before, and I
*still* not only was disappointed, but felt the same betrayal and almost
cruel sadism towards what makes Star Trek what it is, again, that I've
felt with earlier shows, but this time on full blast all throughout.

I guess I'm just so much into Star Trek of the old days that I keep
thinking to myself: they learned their lesson by now, right? They *have*
to have noticed something is off, right? They don't WANT to produce cruel
gruel, right?
But at this point I am starting to feel like that's the intention. That's
the goal. To just alienate everyone. This is ... really starting to feel
like it's on purpose, and the purpose is to make everyone sad and angry.

God I really hope The Orville does get renewed into a season 4.
