Hey all,
now I've been watching Unification a few times now and it really hits hard
on an emotional level. If you haven't seen it yet, do consider it. There
is nothing much there in terms of story, or dialog, but it could still
spoil the experience if you read about it before seeing it yourself, but
this is one of the most heartfelt tributes that I have ever seen to Spock
and Kirk, the characters, both as well as the actors.
After so many years of nothing more to see Star Trek, at least the old
style of Star Trek, I'm wowed. And I did not even realise just how much I
needed this kind of closure. And I wished I could have had this, for
Bones, Uhura, and others as well. It's a depiction of friendship very pure
and very simple.
Anyway, to let you know what this actually is: it's a very short film on
YouTube, made by the son of Roddenberry, produced by a Nemoy, and William
Shatner, among others, and it is made professionally, with the help of
quite a lot of modern technology for the special effects work. Which looks
really convincing, considering what we see. It's really well acted, too.
The silence is a bit deafening, but I see the intention behind the choice
not to have people conversing with each other here.
I know someone else already linked to it, but there was a back and forth
about it not being a direct link, so here is a direct one for you.
Have a good one,
